How to get the cake of your dreams
Getting married is one of the most important moments of your life. Even when it should be all about joy it can get a little bit stressful. I hope this bits and pieces help you on one of the central pieces of your day, The wedding cake.
Ask around, get to know the cake designer. Before choosing a cake designer, talk to as many as you can, get to know their style and product, see if you picture yourself working together. If some one doesn't let you try their product, run away (unless you really know them, or is related to you).
Pick seasonal friendly flavors. If you want a great flavor, choose whatever is on season. You want to avoid a strawberry that tastes like plastic because is not ready yet. Ask your cake designer for some advice.
Decide the job of your cake. Is it dessert?, an addition to the dessert? or is it mainly a decoration? One of the key factors on deciding the size, filling and shape of the cake relies on what you want to get from it. This will also help the designer to create something that works for you and your budget.
How soon is too soon, or how late is too late. This factor varies from venue to venue, some will need months while other might be able to respond with shorter notice. It is important that the designer knows what you are eating before the dessert to design a cake that not only looks amazing but really compliments the whole meal.
